This month really didn’t work out how I had planned it. I was sick and had a miserable time at the race, but I think I made it through in one piece. I’m not sure what’s coming up next, but in the next month I should at least ramp my workouts back up to a normal level.
Running: 192 miles
Gym Workouts: 5
Core training: 4
My running miles were back up this month, but I’ve been feeling kind of worried about that nagging pain in my leg. I made it through some really solid runs in the last couple weeks, though, so hopefully I am fine. I’ll be backing down on the miles the next couple weeks anyway, so with any luck that should speed the recovery process as well.
Running: 168 miles
Gym Workouts: 6
Core training: 3
My running total was a little lower this month due to my being sick for most of the week before Christmas. Fortunately I was able to bounce back the following week, so I think I will be okay. One of the people in my training group was out for a week and a half around this time a couple years ago and went on to have a stellar marathon, so it can be done!
Running: 186 miles
Gym Workouts: 9
Core training: 3
For November, the biggest change has been the consistent addition of an extra easy run each week. That’s increased my total miles and made me feel a lot better in my harder runs. I had wanted to get some bike rides, too, but I did not manage to do that. I have been good about getting into the gym regularly, so I’m happy with that as well. The challenge for December will be keeping to the schedule during all the holidays and festivities.
Running: 168 miles
Gym Workouts: 7
Core training: 4
I increased my running over last month, and my strength work was solid, but I didn’t manage to get any bike rides at all! I’ll have to work on that in November. I’m also planning to add in some more easy runs so that even keeping everything else the same I will have hard runs be less of my overall running total.
Running: 135 miles
Biking: 47 miles
Gym Workouts: 5
Core training: 4
I increased my running over last month, but my gym workouts slid a little bit. I will do a better job of that in October. I am really getting a lot out of the core strength training classes I’m doing, too. I can really tell it’s making a difference when I run. I can also tell I am stronger when I do weights at the gym. It’s amazing how some seemingly simple exercises using just a mat and the ball can make you that much stronger.
Running: 126 miles
Biking: 145 miles
Gym Workouts: 5
Core training: 5
August had some good running and biking in it plus a couple sessions in the water. The gym workout count seems low, but I’ve been substituting those core training classes for gym workouts once a week. I’m happy with those totals, so hopefully I can build on them in September.
Running: 63 miles
Biking: 327 miles
Gym Workouts: 11
Elliptical: 450 minutes
Well, I really didn’t get to run as much as I would have liked this month, but it seems I made up for it with strong totals in the other categories. My legs are feeling better, so I’m supposed to be ramping my running back up. Perhaps this was just my body telling me it was time to take a break.
Running: 74 miles
Biking: 130 miles
Gym Workouts: 13
Elliptical: 390 minutes
Well, this thing with my leg really snuck up on me. I’m not sure what happened, but I’m going to make sure it heals right. I feel pretty good today, but I will still give it another week before I try running again. At least now I know I can maintain and even improve my fitness level with the elliptical trainer and the cycling. I was pretty good with the gym workouts this month, too.
